High Country is in the business of providing financial security through insurance and insurance-related products. We are committed to being the easiest and friendliest insurance agency with which to do business. Every decision we make, every action we take, every thing we say should have one purpose: TO DO THE BEST JOB POSSIBLE FOR OUR CLIENTS.

High Country Agency was incorporated as a new Mexico Corporation on January 2, 1972. Its stated purpose was the sale of real estate and insurance in Ruidoso and the surrounding trade area. Mr. Kent Barron was the first president and owner along with his wife Scottie.

On September 15, 1973, Roy L. "Pinky" Jones, purchased the agency which was then located at 925 Sudderth Drive. The agency was moved to 339 Sudderth in 1975.

Pinky Jones was the only principal of the agency until June 1, 1977 when Franklin Sayner joined High Country as Vice President. Mr. Jones retired January 1, 1986 and Frank Sayner became the owner. Dave Parks joined the agency in April 1989, after selling Perteet Parks & Associates to the agency.

On May 1, 1980, the agency was moved to 708 Mechem Drive. On December 10, 1995, the agency moved into a new building at 706 Mechem Drive which is where it is today. 

High Country Agency is an independent insurance agency that serves it's customers with several different insurance companies. (These companies can be found on the companies page). This agency is proud to be a part of this terrific community and is a supporter of various organizations.
